The Liverpool Youth Council is made up of young people aged 13-19,
who have been elected by their peers for a term of two years.

The Youth council aims to elect 30 members, there will be 3 representatives from each of the wards.
At the moment we currently have 15 youth councillors and we would like to recruit more with disabilities,
from ethnic minority and looked after young people.

For more information contact your local Youth Worker.

The youth council aim to:

  • Help young people across the city.
  • Let young people's voices be heard.
  • Represent young people from their areas.
  • Raise young people's views and issues.
  • Advise other young people.
  • Manage the participation Fund.

The five current issues of the youth council are: police attitudes, racism, drugs and alcohol,
peer pressure and young people's voices.

A youth council residential takes place twice a year, where youth councillors do team building training,
